At this meeting we plan to:

• Identify what you need help with.
• Discuss the options available to you and answer any questions you have.
• Advise you about the likely costs of any particular action, discuss whether one of our fixed fee packages would be suitable, discuss whether a referral to mediation would be helpful and identify whether Legal Aid may be available to you.

The Fixed Fee interview does not cover the costs of any follow up work following the meeting. If you decide that you would like us to take matters further for you, we can discuss whether the following Fixed Fee options may be appropriate for you. Alternatively, some clients may decide to run the case themselves.

Court Fees Currently £612 when the Petition is issued.

What is included in this package:

• We will hold meetings with you as required to take you through the divorce/dissolution procedure from start to finish.
• We will draft the Petition/Reconciliation Certificate to start the process and send the papers of to the Court.
• We will make contact with your husband/wife/civil partner or their Solicitor prior to the start of the process and throughout.
• We will send the papers to Court, apply for the Decree Nisi/Conditional Order and Decree Absolute.

What is not included in this package:

• We will not act for either partner who are not residents of the UK.
• If the Divorce/Dissolution is defended or your partner cannot be found, or they fail to acknowledge the Petition, or the other partner cross-petitions, or if otherwise it becomes complex then our hourly rates will apply.
• We will not apply for your marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate or incur Court Fees or Disbursements.
• We will not advise you as to complete HMCTS fee remission form EX160.
• We will not attend any Court Hearings.
• We will not advise you in matters connected to children or finances.
• We will not cover any additional fees that may become payable for example, if there are problems serving your spouse and you need to apply for bailiff service.

What is included in this package:

• Initial face to face meeting to advise you of the divorce/dissolution procedure.
• We will check your divorce papers, complete the Acknowledgment of Service and send them to Court.
• We will advise you upon any claim for costs on the divorce/dissolution petition.
• We will contact your husband/wife/civil partner or their Solicitor throughout the process.
• We will check and send you the Decree Nisi/Conditional Order and Decree Absolute.

What is not included in this package:

• The Service is not applicable should you wish to defend or cross petition.
• We will not attend Court.
• We will not incur any Court fees or disbursements.
• We will not apply for the Decree Absolute in the Event that your husband/wife/civil partner fails to do so.
• We will not advise on children or financial matters

What is included in this package:

• Completing the Application if an agreement is reached and both parties are in agreement it can be recorded in a formal Order.
• We will prepare the Final Order for approval.
• If agreements are not accepted then you will be charged at an hourly rate.

Court Fees Currently £255 when the Application is issued.

What is included in this package:

• We will hold meetings with you as required to take you through the procedure and effect of a Consent Order.
• We will prepare the Consent Order that will give effect to the agreement already reached with your husband/wife/civil partner and prepare the Statement of Information, send this to your husband/wife/civil partner for completion and we wills end to the Court for approval.
• We will send you the sealed Consent Order.

What is not included in this package: -

• We will not give advice as to whether a Consent Order is appropriate in your case.
• We will not enter into any negotiations with your husband/wife/civil partner.
• We will not deal with business assets, assets outside of the UK, tax issues or trusts.
• We will not implement the Consent Order e.g. transfer of property.
• We will not attend Court.
• We will not enforce the Consent Order.
• We will not incur any Court Fees Or disbursements.
• We will not advise upon or complete the HMCTS fee remission form EX160.

Should the Court decline to approve the Order or should your husband/wife/civil partner withdraw from their agreement, we can continue to advise you but please note that our hourly rates will apply.
